SweetGeorgia Yarns

Happy Lunar New Year! At SweetGeorgia, we're celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse with a special new colourway, Fuel on the Fire! Symbolizing fiery strength and transformation, this vibrant colourway invites you to channel the powerful energy of the year to fuel your passions and creative dreams.

Fuel on the Fire

We're dyeing the new Fuel on the Fire colourway on a special yarn base, Corriedale Sock, as well as on our popular Corriedale fibre. And when we create a new colourway, we love seeing it come to life in as many projects as possible! SweetGeorgia team member Hoi felted an absolutely adorable Fire Horse using colour sections from the fibre, while Greta chose the Colour Field pattern to weave a stunning new scarf. With each shade shifting and moving like flames in a fresh fire, the colours travel along the warp, interacting and softening one another. Even though each hue is bold, the overall effect feels unified. Read more about this scarf project on the SweetGeorgia Blog.

Clawlab Tufting Gun review by Felicia

We love exploring colour and texture—whether dyeing, knitting, weaving, or spinning—it's all about “painting” with yarn. At the latest SweetGeorgia YouTube video, Felicia explores rug making using the Clawlab Tufting Gun H1 Kit she received. Her main questions: Is it easier than punch needle, and can I use my hand-dyed knitting yarn to make a rug?!

Carding tools and fibre

How do we decide which carding tools are right for the job? Can one tool do it all, or do you need separate tools for each step of the carding process? In our new SweetGeorgia Blog post, we take a closer look at many of the different fibre preparation tools on the market, helping you decide which tool to choose for your fibre preparation needs.

The Many Ways We Can Use Carding Tools

Wishing you a wonderful week of colour + craft,
